Dr. Rogers and nutritionist Barbara Krzyzanowski are determined to help fight childhood obesity. Starting this spring we will be offering a program specifically for overweight and obese children.
Childhood obesity has been linked to diabetes, high blood pressure, depression, anxiety, and poor academic performance. Children and adolescents who are obese are likely to be obese as adults, and are therefore more at risk for adult health problems such as heart disease, type-2 diabetes, stroke, several types of cancer, and osteoarthritis.
Our program will teach children and teens what to eat, and we will also work on their physical and emotional health, to help provide them the self-assurance they deserve. We encourage and teach healthy lifestyle habits, including healthy eating and physical activity.
